Reports to: Centralized Kids Ministry Pastor

Summary of Role

The Kids Ministry Experience & Curriculum Coordinator supports Kids Ministry at Emmanuel Church by developing, editing, and maintaining cohesion of curriculum needs for all campuses and assisting in the planning and execution of Kids (& Family) Ministry events. This position supports Kids Ministry by evaluating and aligning service environments in birth-6th grade classrooms at all campuses to ensure that excellence and continuity is maintained to achieve our vision of seeing kids come to Christ and grow in Christ.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive scope and sequence to provide the opportunity for kids to come to Christ and grow in Christ 
  • Support Kids Ministry Pastor and Impact Team members in ensuring continuity and excellence in curriculum over all Kid’s Ministry environments and events 
  • Contribute to preparation and successful execution of Kids Ministry and 56 camps and other Kids Ministry events  
  • Travel to campuses for observation of curriculum in action during the weekend service and evaluate for continuous improvement 
  • Collaborate and research ideas in an effort to become an expert in the area of curriculum, events, & environments
  • Other related tasks as assigned 

Curriculum for birth – 6th grade 

o   Download and assist in the modification of monthly curriculum elements for all ages up to 6th grade 

o   Prepare and distribute curriculum and materials to all campuses  

o   Evaluate purchasing needs based on current selections and purchase and distribute to all campuses 

o   Support and encourage Kids Ministry and 56 directors as they execute small group and large environments and curriculum

Impact Team  

o   Lead, recruit and manage weekly Impact Team members serving in the curriculum development and distribution through preparing copies & distributing craft elements for classroom Impact team 

o   Support and provide feedback regularly to Centralized Kids Ministry Pastor 

o   Provide ongoing appreciation and care for weekly Impact Team members 

Events

o   Develop content and write curriculum if event requires

o   Purchasing and preparing supplies as needed

o   Support during the event & evaluate throughout to provide feedback post-event

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent relevant experience required 
  • Previous Family Ministries-related experience, paid or volunteer, preferred 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

  • Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include:

o   Financial support of the church with your tithe

o   Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

o   Participate in community through small group

o   Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period of time off work each week)
