Summary of Role

Emmanuel’s Groups Assistant provides administrative and organizational support for Small Groups at the Stones Crossing Campus.

Staff will be active & engaged in the church through serving, participating in a group, attending service, and tithing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Care for and support the campus groups and group leaders
  • Provide leadership over supportive groups like FPU, Griefshare, Divorce Care, MTO, etc.
  • Monitor communication from group leaders, returning messages as directed
  • Assist in recruitment, onboarding and training of group leaders
  • Assist in planning, setting up and supporting Small Groups Launch initiatives
  • Create documents and communication as it relates to Small Group needs
  • Utilize Emmanuel’s systems and communication tools to communicate to group leaders
  • Works closely with the Groups Director to provide support and needed materials to all groups
  • Assist in organization of onsite group space and group launch evenings
  • Support baptism preparation at the campus
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • Some college or equivalent relevant ministry experience required

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

  • Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include:

o   Financial support of the church with your tithe

o   Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

o   Participate in community through small group

o   Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period of time off work each week)
