Reports to: Director of Production

Summary of Role

The Production Assistant will work with the Weekend Services team in leading production volunteers and overseeing audio, video and lighting for the weekend service experience & centralized events. This role will also have direct oversight of and provide production support at Student Ministry services and events, as well as during Young Adults environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Weekend Services

  • Lead production Impact Team members in producing a consistent, excellent weekend service experience
  • Maintain and troubleshoot production equipment
  • Assist with stage projects, equipment installations, set design and implementation; maintain appearance of stage environment
  • Provide weekend coverage for Campus production staff, when directed by Director of Production or Centralized Pastor of Weekend Services
  • Oversee audio, video and lighting during a campus weekend service experience as assigned
  • Support production needs for ministry events, weddings, etc. as assigned
  • Perform other related duties when requested or as assigned

Student Ministry & Young Adult

  • Assist in recruiting, training, and developing production Impact Team members for Students and Young Adult environments
  • Assist with stage projects, equipment installations, set design and implementation; maintain appearance of stage environment

Additional time commitments required

  • These environments will require a time commitment outside the typical weekday and weekend hours for production. Schedules will be adjusted to accommodate during those weeks.
  • Off-site student ministry events, such as student retreats or camps, are included in the responsibilities of this role.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma required
  • College degree or relevant work or volunteer experience in ministry environments preferred
  • Working knowledge of in-house digital audio consoles, video switches and routers, lighting consoles and fixtures highly preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a live, weekend service environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

  • Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include:

o   Financial support of the church with your tithe

o   Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

o   Participate in community through small group

o   Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period of time off work each week)
