Job Description

Full-Time 

Reports to: Property and Facility Director

Summary of Role

The Property & Facilities Assistant supports the mission of the church by faithfully caring for facilities, ensuring spaces are prepared, maintained, and reset to serve people well in every weekend service and ministry event environment.

Additional evening work hours are required in support of ministry events hosted at the Stones Crossing Campus, as well as in the event of weather-related or building-specific issues.

Staff will be active & engaged in the church through serving, participating in a group, attending service, and tithing. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness of all church facilities, including lobbies, worship spaces, classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas
  • Provide on-site support during services or events as needed, addressing spills, restrooms, and unexpected needs
  • Partner with ministry leaders to understand and execute room setup needs accurately and efficiently
  • Set up and tear down rooms for services, events, and meetings (tables, chairs, signage, equipment, etc.) partnering with ministry leaders to understand and execute room setup needs accurately and efficiently
  • Reset spaces between gatherings to ensure readiness for the next ministry or event
  • Assist in managing the use of church buildings, assets, and grounds
  • Assist in managing the maintenance of church grounds and buildings
  • Work with local law enforcement to ensure a safe and secure building
  • Engage and support Impact Team members in security, maintenance, and repair of our facilities
  • Other related tasks as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience with facility maintenance preferred

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with experience in conflict resolution
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/administrative skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects
  • Ability to learn and use Emmanuel’s systems (Rock, Planning Center, etc.) and learn and adapt to new technology
  • Demonstrate ability to work independently and as part of a team in a flexible and cooperative manner, self-motivated
  • Demonstrate confidentiality and discretion when handling personal and ministry information
  • Demonstrate a servant heart with spiritual maturity and sensitivity

  • Agreement to abide by Emmanuel Church’s Expectations of a Staff Member which include:

o   Financial support of the church with your tithe

o   Attend one weekend service each week and monthly staff meetings

o   Participate in community through small group

o   Prioritize a Sabbath (one 24-hour period of time off work each week)

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk between and throughout buildings and around the property
  • Required to read, speak, and hear
  • Ability to lift 75lbs or more
  • Ability to push and pull carts, vacuums, or floor-cleaning machines, reach with hands and arms above head and below waist
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks over the course of a full shift
  • Ability to maintain energy and attention to detail during repetitive tasks
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals and supplies safely
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments (indoor/outdoor, varying temperatures, dust, moisture)
  • Tolerance for exposure to cleaning odors and occasional noise from equipment
